This is what I do!!!  Most of the time we photograph just before sunset.  But, not everyone is available at that time so we also have full sun family portraits.  Full sun family portraits are much more challenging but can be extremely beautiful with the high contrast and vibrant colors.  We usually have the sun behind the family to help prevent squinting of the eyes.  With clouds in the background it really adds some depth and interest to the beautiful day on Colony Beach.  Family Beach Portraits are the way to show off your family in the amazing summer settings of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.

As I mentioned most of the time we photograph starting about an hour before sunset.  This give us beautiful soft light with out harsh shadows the many families prefer.  With each session many photo’s are taken with different combinations of poses, backgrounds and people. The benefit to you is a number of creative family beach portraits to choose from.  And if you have a number of sub families then everyone can see the big group and have portraits of all of the individual groups as well.  Like, brother’s family, sister’s family and Grandparents with the grandkids.  Below are some examples of the golden hour portraits, sunset portraits and groupings.
